EUROPE'S No.1 SPORTS RETAILER
Sports Division and Olympus Sport have a new and exclusive deal with Pantofola D'Oro - the manufacturers of Paolo Di Canio's famous green and white boots and John Barnes' red and white boots. Since the boots arrival in Britain and their endorsement by the footballers the craze has taken off with every adult and child desperate to own a pair as worn by their heroes.
|As a one off, the golden boots were made specially for Paolo and made their debut during the Celtic v Aberdeen Boxing Day match. The boots became famous when Di Canio scored a last minute goal to bring Celtic a 2-1 win. The boots were then auctioned during a live Radio Clyde event for the Children’s charity, Cash for Kids, with Sports Division’s Managing Director Tom Hunter putting in the highest bid of £30,000 to secure the boots, beating lottery winner John McGuinness’ offer of £28,000. The generous lottery winner then donated his cash to the charity bringing the total funds raised to a staggering £58,000.|
|Tom Hunter met Paulo Di Canio on Monday 30th December at Celtic Park to hand over the cheque and receive the golden boots. The Sports Division stores in Scotland have joined forces with the Daily Record to offer readers the
chance to win the famous boots. See press for details.
As a final note - if you are not lucky enough to win the golden boots you can still buy a pair of the coloured ones from your local Sports Division store.
